ARRIVAL & VISA
Generally speaking, all foreigners coming to the Republic of china Should apply for
entry visa through the embassies/consulates of the Republic of China, or agencies
authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for entering into the Republic of China.
As of May1, 1995, all the nationals of the following 15 countries are exempted from
securing visa for entry into the Republic of china: U. S. A., Japan, Canada, Belgium,
Luxemburg, Sweden, Holland, New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Germany, Britain,
France, Spain, and Portugal. The maximum duration of stay is 14-day. Requirements for
14-day non-visa entry are:
1. Passport good for at least 6 months.
2. confirmed onward ticket within 14-day.
3. No violation of law recorded.
If it is necessary to stay more than 14-day and less than 30-day, the nationals of the
specific countries holding 14-day non-visa entry should in the meantime apply for
landing visa with the authorized office in the CKS airport from the Bureau of consular
Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Tel:(03) 398-2629. The landing visa fee is
NT$1500.
FOREIGN CURRENCIES
Travelers are required to declare their possession offoreign currencies. Each outbound
traveler is allowed to bring with him up to US$ 40,000 in cash and 20 coins.
BONDED BAGGAGE
The bonded baggage counter is at the right-hand comer of the customs inspection hall.
The bonded baggage claim counters are located in the north and the south of the

HOTEL RESERVATION
Hotel reservation center at the entry hall provides hltel information and hltel booking
services. Dial (03)383-4675/7.
POSTAL SERVICES
The post office at the southern section of the teminal building provides postal as well as
foreign exchange services. Opening hours from 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m. Monday through
Saturday. Tel(03)383-4603
TELEPHONE & TELEGRAM
Telephone booths in the teminal building are available for intermational calls and
domestic long distance calls. A telecommunication service counter at the departure
lounge offers domestic as well as intemational telegram and fax services.
PASSENGER SERVICE
The Tourism Bureau operates four tourist service centers, dial (03)398-2194 for details.
The airport office sponsors two information counters in the departure lounges for
outbound passengers. Left luggage services are available at NT$30per piece. Dial

LOST & FOUND
The Lost & Found Service Counter is located at the south side of the basement in the
Departure Hall, facing the Baggage Duty Collection Section of the Customs. Daill

TO TOWN AND BACK
Taiwan Motor Transport Co. runs limousine buseebetween CKS Airport and
downtown Taipei. With one bus leasing every 15 minutes. A oneway ticket costs
NT$115 and the journey takes about an hour. There are also buses running between the
airport and Hsinchu, Taichung, Changhua, Tainan, Kaohsiung and Pingtung. A 50
percent surcharge is allowed over the fare shown on the taxi meter for joumeys from
CKS Airport. The average fare to Taipei is NT$1,100. Leading hotels in Taipei provide

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
The Aviation Medical Center at the right hand comer of the departure lounge offers
general examination and treatment for minor ailments. Tel:(03)398-2827
AIRPORT HOTEL
Airport Hotel, located near the entrance of the airport and about two kilometers from
the terminal building, offers passengers board and lodging services. Tel(03)383-3666

Car rental service counter at the entry lounge is open from 10a.m. until 11p.m. daily.

SHOPPING
On the second floor of the departure lounge is a shopping area selling locally-made items.
Tobacco and liquor pre-order counters are located at the southern and northern comers
of the building. Near the departure concourse is the duty-free area. The Taiwan Tobacco
and Wine Monopoly offers duty-free tobacco and liquor. Tou You Enterprise Co., Ltd.
Provides imported merchandise, and Tai Yung specializes in typical Chinese
handicarafts and local specialties.
RESTAURANTS & SNACK BARS
The Grand Hotel operates a coffee shop on the secondfloor of the departure lounge,
offering westem-style snacks and beverages. A Chinese restaurant is on the fourth floor.
And there are snack bars in both the arrival and departure lounges.
AIRPORT SERVICE CHARGE
An airport service charge of NT$300 must be baid upon departure by each passenger
over two years of age.
BANK
the International Commercial Bank of China(ICBC) AND Bank of taiwan (BOT). Have
service counters at both the arrival and departure lounges, offering foreign exchange

GUIDEBOOKS
Taiwan Guide, a monthly published by Taiwan guide Press under the sponsorship of
CKS International Airport Office, and Duty Free Shopping Guide, the first official
quarterly introducing duty-free products available in Taiwan, can both be obtained free
of charge at service counters of the airport.
