Erhshui Station

¡@The Erhshui Station is where the Chichi Line connects with the west coast trunk line.

1. Piyun Temple
¡@This temple is dedicated to Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, and is the foremost place of Buddhist worship in the vicinity. Facing the river and with its back to the mountains, the temple's quiet and secluded location lends to an atmosphere of dignified solmnity.

2. Shoutien Temple
¡@This temple was built in 1745 and is situated at 500 meters on the highest point of Sungpo Ridge. Its most important celebrations are held on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month and the 3rd day of the 8th lunar month every year.

3. Mr. Lin's Temple
¡@This temple memorializes a Ching dynasty official who pioneered the development of irrigation works here during the Kanghsi reign period (A.D. 1662-1723). The architecture of the temple, which residents of the surrounding area built in grateful commemoration of Lin's contributions, manifests an ancient style with upturned "flying eaves," The quiet and secluded environment make this a perfect place for mind-clearing relaxation.

4. Sungpo Ridge
¡@This is the best vantage point for viewing the Choshui River and the surrounding countryside. It is also the site of Shoutien Temple, a popular place of worship and a sacred spot for the island's Taoists. A Changhua Bus Company route provides access to Sungpo Ridge.

¡½Lo River lnkstone Rock

¡@This is a special product of the Erhshui area. Taken from the Lo River, a tributary of the Choshui, this is a hard, finegrained kind of stone that holds water without drying out, allows excellent grinding of ink, inhibits freezing, and cleans easily. It is considered top-quality inkstone material. It comes in many colors, with deep red being the rarest and most valuable.
