Foreign investment has played a major role in the development of Taiwan's economic "miracle" through technology and equipment transfers, creation of employment, and stimulation of research and development and Investment Center (IDIC)炥art of the Ministry of Economic Affairs𡟙s a service organization whose major responsibility is to promote two-way investments. IDIC analyzes and reviews investment projects, promotes investment, and studies and recommends ways to improve in vestment laws and regulations. IDIC also provides information and publications (59 in English alone) needed by investors, and acts as a liaison between private investors and government organizations. Some of IDIC's free services include pre-in-vestment studies, investment planning, assistance in filing applications, plant-site acquisition or expansion, and foreign trade promotion. With its engineering capability, educated population, commitment to R&D, and complete infrastructure, Taiwan will remain a great place for investment.
